Debate on Medical Specialisation

MSF chooses to provide a largely varying level of care to beneficiaries in different projects. Some projects imply a big investment in specialized care for a limited number of beneficiaries presenting medical conditions that we hardly consider in another project. What is the rationale behind these choices? What are the ethical and policy issues related to greater specialization?
